Make your summer a culinary experience
Whether you are looking to stop in for a quick lunch, do a little shopping, pick up some wine for dinner or grab a beverage from the café—or all of the above—The Culinary Stone is the store you’re looking for, offering a variety of culinary products and services all under one roof! Located in beautiful Riverstone Village, The Culinary Stone has an expansive patio—perfect for hosting exciting events all summer long; events like BBQ & Bands, bringing together the fun of live music and flavorful BBQ cuisine from June through August.
From the grill or stovetop to tabletop, your list of kitchen items is covered. Shop from rows of kitchen gadgets, cookware, dinnerware, and gifts galore. Find specialty spices and local sauces that add new flavors to your favorite summer dishes or try fresh recipes from a wide selection of cookbooks. The team is happy to offer recommendations or answer your culinary questions and are always available to put together any size gift basket to celebrate the culinarian in your life. Don’t forget to treat yourself to a team favorite—soft brittle that melts in your mouth from International Award-Winning Premium Confectionery Robinson Confections.
The wine selection is reason enough to stop in, as wines are hand selected from most every major wine region in the world, with a focus on local wines. This summer you are invited to join The Culinary Stone for a variety of wine events, featuring tastings every Sunday afternoon and winemaker dinners hosted in-house by local wineries from across the Pacific Northwest.
“Our tastings and events are intended for everyone,” expressed Wine Buyer, Food and Beverage Manager Ethan Lillis. “Whether you are just starting to venture into wine or have been an enthusiast for years, we have something to offer each customer that walks through our doors.”
You’ll be treated to the best sandwiches in town at The Deli, prepared and served by the courteous and friendly staff. Choose from an excellent selection of Boars Head meats and cheeses to take home, or enjoy craft and barrel-aged beer, wine and more. This is also the place to go for a beautiful and delicious charcuterie platter to impress your guests. You can order custom charcuterie boards or pick up a made-to-go gourmet spread to share.
Then there’s The Café, where specialty coffees and seasonal drinks are their forte, along with a delightful selection of pastries, all served up in a bright and cheery atmosphere. The Café now features The Culinary Stone’s own unique and carefully selected coffee, an Alderwood Roast that has been roasted over an open fire for an extra smooth, rich flavor you are sure to enjoy.
A favorite among customers are the on-site cooking classes; a fun way to experience new flavors while taking a front row seat to watch the chef in action. “Attending one of our weekly cooking classes is a must! Bring some friends for a fun night out,” shares Store Manager Susan Odell. “We have a wide variety of classes that teach you how to prepare cuisines from all around the world.” And the best part … you get to enjoy all the delicious foods prepared by the chef!
Proprietor, Patrick Volkar, is proud of all The Culinary Stone has to offer and the place it holds in so many hearts. “I love when our customers have friends and family visiting, and they share with us that we are at the top of their lists of places to bring their loved ones.”
Being a locally owned business allows The Culinary Stone team to cater directly to the local community, finding their needs and fulfilling them. "We offer our customers a comforting experience with a friendly staff that is eager to please and give personalized attention to each person who visits us," smiles James Culp, Merchandiser Extraordinaire. "It's the daily human interaction that brings a 'happy buzz' every day inside our store."
From the kitchen to the wine, the classes and deli, to the café…The Culinary Stone family invites you to come join the experience.
