Easy Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
4 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp are great choices)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 cup water
For the Topping:
1 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Salt1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Method:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
2. Peel, core and slice the apples. Place them in a large bowl and toss with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Pour water over the apples.
3.In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Pour in melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly.
4. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
6. Let the apple crisp cool slightly before serving. It's delicious on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
