Masselow’s Steakhouse

Masselow’s Steakhouse

There’s a magical, yet undefinable, quality about dining at Masselow’s Steakhouse inside Northern Quest Resort & Casino. While the food is consistently spectacular, it’s the true passion of the culinary team that makes the overall experience extra special. Guests are treated to not only the finest in food and wine, but memorable hospitality.

Originally from a small farming community in Iowa, Chef Tanya Broesder grew up with a love of food, learning to can, pickle, bake and butcher at a young age. She went on to graduate from the Western Culinary Institute and Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, earning an internship at the former Fugazzi in Spokane. Today, as the chef of Masselow’s, Tanya pours her training and her heart into every dish she prepares, whether it’s experimenting with new and unique ingredients, or adding her own touch to one of her grandmother’s decades-old recipes.

It’s a collaborative effort between Tanya and Food and Beverage Director Bob Rogers to create foods that will impress. As the original chef at Masselow’s and the former executive chef at Northern Quest, Bob recognized Tanya’s talent and knew she would continue raising the bar. They are partners and respect each other’s ideas. They eat together. They encourage one another. And they seek the same goal—to offer patrons something extra special that can’t be found anywhere else. A simplistic approach allows guests to truly savor the flavors of the quality foods that are served.

To complement the cuisine, Eric Cook, Masselow’s manager and sommelier, will illuminate your taste buds with his carefully chosen wine selection. With a 600-bottle wine list, there are entry-level wines for the beginning wine enthusiast and selections for a more seasoned palate.

With years of experience as a server, bartender, wine clerk and wine teacher, Eric achieved the status of sommelier, honing his craft over the years at some very distinctive Northwest venue including the Spokane Country Club, the Davenport Hotel and the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Eric joined the Masselow’s team in 2014, where he continues to share his extensive knowledge and love of wine with guests.

Many of the friendly and talented Masselow’s team members have been with the restaurant since its opening in 2010. They all have a love for what they do and are grateful that it’s more than just a job. They take pride in having a sense of ownership at Masselow’s.

The finest in cuisine, paired with exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere, gives Masselow’s guests a genuinely warm feeling of hospitality. Treat yourselves to a date night, or plan a fun group meetup; Masselow’s is worth sharing with your favorite people.
